Diamond Road

BEFORE YOU BEGIN know how to make a Right Hand Double Knot and a Left Hand Double Knot.

1. Pick 3 different colors for this pattern. This instruction uses orange, white & dark purple. You will need 2 strands of orange, 2 strands of white & 1 strand of dark purple.

2. Align string, fold in half, and tie knot 1/2 inch from fold forming a loop.

3. Attach your string to something using a safety pin or attach to a clipboard.

4. Separate strings from 1 to 8. Use the same color for strings 1, 4, 7 & 10 (orange), strings 2, 3, 8 & 9 (white) & strings 5 & 6 (dark purple). This will align the colors of your bracelet pattern.

5. To begin, take string #1 (orange) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #2 (white). String #1 (orange) will stay as string #1.

6. Take string #3 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #4 (orange). String #3 (white) will stay as string #3.

7. Use string #5 (purple) and make a right hand double knot with string #6 (purple). String #5 (purple) will now become string #6.

8. Take string #8 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #7 (orange). String #8 (white) will stay as string #8.

9. Take string #10 (orange) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #9 (white). String #10 (orange) will stay as string #10.

10. Next take string #2 (white) and make a right hand double knot with string #3 (white). String #2 (white) will now become string #3.

11. Now use string #5 (purple) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #4 (orange). String #5 (purple) will stay as string #5.

12. Use string #6 (purple) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #7 (orange). String #6 (purple) will stay as string #6.

13. Take string #9 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #8 (white). String #9 (white) will stay as string #9.

14. Use string #1 (orange) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #2 (white). String #1 (orange) will stay as string #1.

15. Take string #3 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #4 (orange). String #3 (white) will stay as string #3.

16. Use string #5 (purple) and make a right hand double knot with string #6 (purple). String #5 (purple) will now become string #6.

17. Take string #8 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #7 (orange). String #8 (white) will stay as string #8.

18. Take your string #10 (orange) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #9 (white). String #10 (orange) will stay as string #10.

19. Next take string #2 (white) and make a right hand double knot with string #3 (white). String #2 (white) will now become string #3.

20. Use string #5 (purple) and make a left hand double knot with string #4 (orange). String #5 (purple) will now become string #4.

21. Next take string #6 (purple) and make a right hand double knot with string #7 (orange). String #6 (purple) will now become string #7.

22. Use string #9 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #8 (white). String #9 (white) will stay as string #9.

23. Take string #1 (orange) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #2 (white). String #1 (orange) will stay as string #1.

24. Use string #4 (purple) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #3 (white). String #4 (purple) will stay as string #4.

25. Now use string #6 (orange) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #5 (orange). String #6 (orange) will stay as string #6.

26. Take string #7 (purple) and make single right single left hand knot with string #8 (white). String #7 (purple) will stay as string #7.

27. Use string #10 (orange) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #9 (white). String #10 (orange) will stay as string #10.

28. Now take string #3 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #2 (white). String #3 (white) will stay as string #3.

29. Take string #4 (purple) and make a right hand double knot with string #5 (orange). String #4 (purple) will now become string #5.

30. Use string #7 (purple) and make a left hand double knot with string #6 (orange). String #7 (purple) will now become string #6.

31. Take string #9 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #8 (white). String #9 (white) will stay as string #9.

32. At this point your pattern will now repeat itself. Repeat steps 5-31 to continue the pattern until your bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist.

33. Once you bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist take strings 1-3 in your left hand and strings 8-10 in your right hand and braid with the remaining 4 center strings.

34. Take the braided strings and tie two basic knots at the end of your friendship bracelet.

35. Unpin or unclip your friendship bracelet and cut off the excess braided section. Your friendship bracelet is ready to wear or share with your best friend or mom.
